On Sunday afternoon, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever pulled off a surprising 88-82 victory against Brittney Griner and the Phoenix Mercury. The win brought the Fever’s record to 8-12, while the Mercury dropped to 9-9.

In a postgame interview, Fever forward Aliyah Boston discussed the challenge of facing Griner, noting that her height makes her a tough opponent.

“It definitely was a battle. I mean, it’s hard. BG, she’s talented, and when she puts that ball above her head, it’s tough to get there. I just try my best to make it hard for her to catch it. Trying not to be mad when she made some shots because that’s what she’s going to do,” Boston said.

In the game, Boston scored 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out four assists. Griner finished with 24 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Clark came close to a triple-double, missing it by just one rebound.
