The Dallas Cowboys are dealing with off-season turbulence, as several players, including star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, are in the midst of contract negotiations. Lamb, who missed previous workouts, will not be present at training camp.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed before minicamp that Lamb would not join the team during this stage of the off-season, similar to his absence in April. With preseason just over a month away, it’s uncertain when Lamb will return.

Lamb’s absence follows the high-profile contract renewals of Justin Jefferson with the Minnesota Vikings, who became the highest-paid receiver in the league with a four-year, $140 million deal, and Jaylen Waddle with the Miami Dolphins, who signed a three-year, $52.5 million contract.

This situation could complicate negotiations between the Cowboys and Lamb, as he aims to become the highest-paid receiver in the NFL, potentially prolonging the agreement process. Lamb is not the only player awaiting a contract extension.

Dak Prescott is also in negotiations for a new contract, dealing with a second contentious situation with the front office. Additionally, Micah Parsons seeks a long-term lucrative deal to become one of the highest-paid defensive players in the league, but progress appears unlikely in the upcoming weeks.
