Three Gators Recruiting Prospects to Announce Decisions on Monday

As the Florida Gators aim to bolster their 2025 class, two prospects are set to announce their commitments on Monday. Additionally, a 2024 basketball player turned offensive lineman will also reveal his decision.

Four-star safety Jaylan Morgan will announce his choice at 3 p.m. EST, deciding between Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. Currently, Morgan appears to heavily favor Georgia, with multiple 247 Sports predictions supporting the Bulldogs.

Potentially losing Morgan, right after losing four-star Hylton Stubbs to Miami, would be a significant blow to the Gators’ recruiting efforts. However, Florida remains in a strong position for several defensive backs in the 2025 class, including four-star safeties Lagonza Hayward, who will commit on July 27, and Bryce Fitzgerald, as well as four-star legacy corner Ben Hanks Jr.

Additionally, four-star tight end Andrew Olesh will announce his decision at 6 p.m. ET. He recently revealed a top-four of Florida, Alabama, Penn State, and Michigan. Michigan appears to be the frontrunner for Olesh, but losing this battle won’t be a significant loss for Florida, which already has two tight end commits in the 2025 class: three-star Micah Jones and four-star Tae’shaun Gelsey.

Finally, 2024 enrollee Jahzare Jackson, a former three-star basketball recruit who stands 6 feet 9 inches tall, will also announce his decision on Monday, with Florida and Georgia as the leaders. Prior to his visit with Florida, Jackson indicated the Gators were leading, a sentiment he reiterated on June 16 after his visit.

“It’s a legit lead,” he said. “The people here, I was able to really connect with them, ask them some deep questions. What was it like last year to what it looks like this year. Definitely a lot of things I liked.”

Since then, the Bulldogs have narrowed the gap and may have even overtaken the lead from the Gators, according to On3.

Although July initially seemed promising for the Gators, they have yet to secure a commitment this month, with several targets either eliminating them or committing elsewhere. A commitment on Monday could significantly impact the rest of the summer for the Gators.
