After a hectic 4th of July weekend filled with high-profile commitments, Florida Football has seen a drop in its national recruiting rankings.
Today, another major prospect made headlines by choosing to join the SEC, but not with the Gators.
Florida Football: Avenue Of Giants
Last month, we highlighted Jahzare Jackson, a 6’11” offensive lineman with a unique background. Despite not having played organized football since the 8th grade, Jackson transitioned from basketball, where he was a three-star recruit from IMG, to football. He eventually joined the Overtime Elite league before deciding to pursue football. His performance at various camps earned positive reviews.
Jackson visited Gainesville last month, prompting questions about how many development projects Billy Napier would take on for the Gators. With current players like Noel Portnjagin, George Gumbs, and Enoch Wangoy, who are also big but raw, there was speculation about Jackson’s potential fit.
However, Jackson announced today that he will be committing to Georgia instead of Florida.
