The Miami Marlins are becoming more likely to trade their All-Star player in the coming weeks.

Many players on the Miami Marlins roster have surfaced in MLB trade rumors this summer, especially following the Luis Arraez trade. While the Marlins plan to retain some players past the trade deadline, there is a strong possibility that one of their top contributors could be moved.

In early May, Miami traded Arraez to the San Diego Padres, along with cash considerations, for prospects Dillon Head, Jakob Marsee, and Nathan Martorella. This move indicated that the Marlins would be major sellers at the MLB trade deadline.

The next key Marlins player rumored for a trade was starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo. However, Luzardo is currently on the injured list, making his trade uncertain. With one trade chip off the table due to injury, another player is now widely expected to be traded.

According to Craig Mish of the Miami Herald, there is a growing belief that outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. will be traded this month. He is considered nearly as likely to be traded as closer Tanner Scott.

Chisholm, 26, had a slow start to the season, entering May with a .239/.331/.394 slash line and a .725 OPS, striking out in 27.4 percent of his plate appearances. From May 1 to July 7, he improved to a .264/.324/.414 slash line.

Teams are also drawn to Chisholm’s contract, which has a $2.63 million salary this season and team control through 2026. Given his potential, positional versatility, and favorable contract, Miami would likely acquire several top prospects in exchange for Chisholm.
