OU started the offseason with five available transfer spots and has utilized four, acquiring catcher Isabela Emerling, outfielder Abby Dayton, shortstop Ailana Agbayani, and pitcher Isabella Smith.
After the initial reports of Canady entering the transfer portal following her leadership of Stanford to the Women’s College World Series, things have quieted down. As the National Player of the Year, Canady was expected to be a highly sought-after prospect, likely explaining why her decision is taking longer. Unlike pitchers Alex Storako and Hope Tratwein, who announced their transfers to the Sooners in June of their respective years, some decisions can take significantly more time.
