Jon Chepkevich, the Director of Scouting for DraftExpress.com, joined The Pittsburgh Basketball Show on Tuesday afternoon to discuss Pitt guard Jaland Lowe.
Lowe recently participated in the CP3 Elite Camp with 14 of the top guards in the country. Chepkevich attended the camp and witnessed Lowe’s performance, which impressed many, including NBA star Isaiah Thomas, also a left-handed guard.
As a freshman, Lowe averaged 9.3 points and 3.3 assists per game, shooting 39% from the field, 35% from three-point range, and 86% from the free-throw line.
The Houston, Texas native will lead Pitt’s backcourt this upcoming season alongside veteran guards Ishmael Leggett and Damian Dunn (a Houston transfer). The Panthers boast talent across all positions, including newcomers Cameron Corhen and Amsal Delalic. Pitt also welcomes freshmen Amdy Ndiaye and guard Brandin Cummings, while returning a strong core led by Leggett and Zack Austin.
The Pittsburgh Basketball Show is a YouTube show/podcast covering Pitt, Duquesne, and Robert Morris basketball, as well as WPIAL and City League hoops in the Pittsburgh area. PSN aims to feature coaches, players, fans, media members, and more, providing in-depth interviews to capture the full story of the city’s basketball scene.
The show will focus on all levels of Pittsburgh basketball—high school, college, and pro. While primarily covering men’s basketball, it also plans to feature women’s basketball guests and highlight the women’s basketball scene in the city.
