On Friday, Aaron Judge achieved something that hadn’t been seen in nearly three decades of Yankees history.

The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles 4-1 on Friday night at Camden Yards, marking a significant victory for the team. With this win, the Yankees improved to 57-39, trailing the Orioles by just one game in the American League East.

In this game, Yankees slugger Aaron Judge had an unusual stat line, going 1-for-1 with a home run, four walks, an RBI, and a run scored. This is the first time a Yankee has recorded such a stat line since Paul O’Neill did it on April 30, 1996, also against the Orioles, according to @NyYankeesStats.

Judge, who is having an MVP-caliber season after winning the award in 2022, now has 33 home runs and 84 RBIs, leading the majors in both categories. His 33rd home run makes him only the third Yankee to achieve this milestone before the All-Star break, joining Roger Maris in 1961 and himself in 2022, as noted by Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

As a starter in the upcoming All-Star Game, Judge is hitting .306 for the season and has a career batting average of .284 with 290 home runs. If he remains healthy, he is expected to surpass the 300 home run mark early in the second half of the season.
