Four-star offensive tackle prospect Lamont Rogers has decided to commit to Missouri, opting for the Tigers over offers from Oklahoma and Texas.

The 2025 recruiting class boasts strong talent at various positions, especially at offensive tackle. For Oklahoma, many of the top offensive tackles are in close proximity, and the Sooners have prioritized recruiting them.

As the summer comes to an end, many recruits are finalizing their decisions. On Saturday, one of Oklahoma’s key targets made his commitment public.

Four-star offensive tackle Lamont Rogers chose the Missouri Tigers over offers from Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M.

Oklahoma extended an offer to Rogers in January 2023, and the coaching staff, including Bill Bedenbaugh and Brent Venables, worked diligently to build a strong relationship with him. They also hosted Rogers and his family on several unofficial visits.

Ultimately, Rogers decided to commit to the Missouri Tigers instead.

At 6 feet 6 1/2 inches and 311 pounds, Rogers is ranked as the No. 9 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 17 overall prospect in Texas according to 247Sports.

Despite this setback, the Sooners remain in a strong position to secure another highly rated offensive tackle. They are still in the running for five-star tackles Michael Fasusi and Andrew Babalola. While Fasusi has not set a decision date, Oklahoma is currently in a favorable position. For Babalola, the Sooners will face competition from Stanford and Michigan for the five-star prospect from Kansas.

Oklahoma has already received commitments from offensive linemen Darius Afalava, Ryan Fodje, and Owen Hollenbeck, and they are currently ranked eighth in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings.
