ESPN recently released their 2024 preseason tight end rankings, placing Philadelphia Eagles’ Dallas Goedert at No. 7. An anonymous NFL official compared Goedert to San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle, praising his ability to both block and receive at a high level.
Despite a drop in performance in 2023, where Goedert averaged 10 yards per catch on 59 receptions compared to 13.8 yards per catch in previous years, his blocking remained strong. The Eagles’ late-season struggles contributed to his reduced numbers, but with new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, Goedert is expected to leverage his dual strengths in the upcoming season.
Playing alongside talented teammates like AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and newly signed Saquon Barkley, Goedert is optimistic about the new offensive strategy. He expressed excitement about Moore’s approach, believing it will favor the tight end position and enhance his role.
In 2023, Goedert recorded 59 catches for 592 yards and three touchdowns, ranking third on the team. With Moore’s system, his numbers are anticipated to rise in 2024.
