Ronnie Brewer and Riley Hall have been retained on the Arkansas men’s basketball staff.

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas men’s basketball coach John Calipari is retaining two familiar names on his staff.

Ronnie Brewer and Riley Hall, who have been with the Razorbacks since 2021 and 2013, respectively, will remain on the staff following former coach Eric Musselman’s move to Southern Cal. Brewer will take on the role of director of student-athlete development, while Hall will be the director of basketball operations.

Brewer, a Fayetteville native, spent last season as an assistant coach under Musselman and served as recruiting coordinator.

Hall, originally from Bryant, began as a student manager and held various roles on Musselman’s staff.

Brewer and Hall join Kenny Payne, Chin Coleman, Chuck Martin, Brad Calipari, Bruiser Flint, Chris Woolard, Lunetha Pryor, Kevin Butty, and Kevin Gallagher on Calipari’s initial Razorbacks staff. Former Kentucky guard and graduate assistant Tyler Ulis has also confirmed he is joining Calipari in Fayetteville.

Brewer, who played for the Razorbacks from 2003-2006, was a standout guard at Bud Walton Arena, averaging 15.7 points and 5 rebounds over his three-year career. His best season was in 2006, earning an All-American selection. He was the focal point of Arkansas’ offense that season, making 44.1% of his 447 field goal attempts. He was a two-time All-SEC First Team selection.

Brewer was the 14th overall pick by the Utah Jazz in the 2006 NBA Draft and enjoyed a 10-year professional career, playing for the Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, and Santa Cruz Warriors before retiring in 2016. He has also worked with the Fayetteville High School boys basketball team and coached the Woodz Elite AAU program.

Brewer contributed to recruiting Arkansas’ highest-rated freshman class ever, including Anthony Black, Nick Smith, and Jordan Walsh, which was rated as the No. 2 class in the country.
