Kyren Williams Tops Injury List for Los Angeles Rams as Training Camp Approaches

Injuries are like the zits of football: unwanted, common, and something teams try hard to eliminate before the big game. The Los Angeles Rams are no different. Despite their success in maintaining player health, they head into training camp with several injuries.

Teams aren’t required to provide detailed updates on preseason injuries, and coaching staff often keep things vague.

Los Angeles Rams Injuries to Watch at Training Camp

Kyren Williams – Foot Injury
Kyren Williams didn’t have an injury history before joining the league, but since being drafted by the Rams, he’s had several setbacks. He broke his foot in the spring of his rookie year and later suffered a high ankle sprain, missing eight games that season. Last year, he had another high ankle sprain, causing him to miss five weeks. Now, he’s dealing with a foot issue in the same foot he broke in 2022. Williams was crucial for the Rams’ playoff push last season. Newly drafted running back Blake Corum also has a history of injuries, having had meniscus surgery between 2022 and 2023. Williams has missed 12 games in two seasons due to injuries.

Tre’Davious White
Tre’Davious White has played only 10 games over the past two seasons due to ACL surgery in 2022 and Achilles surgery in 2023. The Rams defense will be at risk if White can’t return to form or stay healthy. The Rams brought in White and Darious Williams to provide veteran presence to a young defense, and White will likely have a significant role this season. Sean McVay noted that White is making “good progress,” working on the sidelines during minicamps and OTAs, but was cautious about his training camp participation, emphasizing the need for long-term health.

More Notable Injuries

Ernest Jones
“He’s had a little issue with his knee, but we expect him – he’s making good progress,” McVay said. The goal is for him to be ready for training camp.

Rob Havenstein
“He’s had a little knee soreness as well. Nothing to be concerned about. These are guys that have played a lot of football, so we err on the side of caution,” McVay added.

Jonah Jackson
Jackson missed several weeks in 2023 with ankle and knee injuries and underwent meniscus surgery. McVay said, “We’re just being smart with him. He’s done a lot of mental work and is making progress. We expect him to join full 11-on-11 practices at some point this offseason.”

Tyler Higbee
Higbee will miss all of Rams training camp and likely several weeks of the season. Tight end Hunter Long returned to practice after MCL repair surgery last season.
