Pitt Men’s Basketball Program Impresses Four-Star Guard, Secures Spot in His Top Nine
The Pitt men’s basketball program and its coaching staff have left a strong impression on the Class of 2025, as evidenced by one of their four-star targets including the Panthers in his top nine choices.
Davion Hannah, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Link Academy in Branson, Missouri, has narrowed his list to nine schools, according to Joe Tipton of On3. Pitt is up against tough competition, as Hannah’s list also includes Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Louisville, NC State, Cincinnati, and Xavier.
Hannah’s decision to trim his list comes shortly after it was reported that he will take an official visit to Pitt on October 19.
A Milwaukee native, Hannah will visit eight of his nine finalists, beginning with Alabama on August 31 and concluding with Pitt and head coach Jeff Capel. The other visits include Louisville (September 7), Wisconsin (September 14), Ohio State (September 20), Michigan State (September 27), NC State (October 5), and Cincinnati (October 12).
Despite the extensive visit schedule, Hannah appears to be taking his time with his decision. He told On3, “There is no exact timeframe now, but I’m probably looking to commit during the late period, around February, but you never know.”
According to On3 Industry rankings, Hannah is the No. 28 overall recruit in the Class of 2025 and the No. 10 shooting guard.
Pitt has already hosted several notable 2025 recruits, including Pittsburgh natives Amari Evans and Meleek Thomas, along with four-star Derek Dixon, for official visits. Additionally, four-star guard Isaiah Denis is set to visit on August 30.
