Arkansas basketball’s 2024-25 non-conference schedule is gradually taking shape, with the addition of another game at Bud Walton Arena. According to a report by Rocco Miller from Bracketeer.org, the Razorbacks will host North Carolina A&T in Fayetteville on Saturday, December 21. The report provided details on the location and date, but the exact tip-off time has yet to be announced.
This matchup will mark only the fourth time the two teams have faced each other, with previous meetings occurring in 1994, 1995, and 2010. Arkansas leads the series 3-0, with the latest win coming on December 29, 2010, in Fayetteville, where the Razorbacks defeated the Aggies 87-59.
The first encounter between the teams took place in the 1994 NCAA Tournament’s first round in Oklahoma City, where Arkansas won 94-79 and eventually claimed the national championship.
The Razorbacks have now confirmed six non-conference games for next season, including matchups against Illinois, Miami (FL), Michigan, Oakland, UCA, and North Carolina A&T. Currently, only two of these games are scheduled to be played in Fayetteville.
There are rumors of two additional non-conference games as part of a multi-team event in November, with Maryland-Eastern Shore and Little Rock possibly visiting Fayetteville. However, these details are not yet finalized.
In June, the Razorbacks confirmed a Thanksgiving Day game against Illinois at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, which will be broadcast on CBS following the NFL game between the Bears and Lions.
This Thanksgiving matchup will feature familiar faces, including Brad Underwood against former Illinois assistant coach Chin Coleman and John Calipari facing his former Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua. It will also feature a duel between twin brothers Zvonimir Ivisic of Arkansas and Tomislav Ivisic of Illinois.
Additionally, the Razorbacks will play Michigan at Madison Square Garden in New York City as part of the 2024 Dicky V Classic and will travel to Miami to face the Hurricanes in the 2024 SEC/ACC Challenge.
“Most of the scheduling is set,” Calipari told the media in May. “We might arrange one more home-and-home series, but we will also play in Little Rock and Dallas. National games are crucial, and we’ve got to play in venues like Madison Square Garden.”
Last year, the Razorbacks released their full non-conference schedule on August 31, with Kentucky announcing theirs a week earlier on August 24. Therefore, an official release from the Razorbacks is expected late next month.
