Softball star NiJaree Canady signs with Texas Tech for a $1M NIL deal, according to reports.
On Wednesday afternoon, Texas Tech landed what could be the top collegiate softball player in the country.
The Athletic reports that Stanford pitcher and rising junior NiJaree Canady is transferring to Texas Tech to join the Red Raiders in Lubbock. Canady has signed a one-year, $1,050,024 contract with the Matador Club, according to the same report.
Canady was named a 2024 NFCA First-Team All-American and was also recognized as the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year for 2024.
She guided Stanford to Women’s College World Series appearances in both 2023 and 2024. The exceptional pitcher entered the transfer portal on June 17.
