During his visit to Detroit Lions practice, Hulk Hogan suggested that coach Dan Campbell would have excelled in professional wrestling. Hogan even coined a nickname for Campbell: “Dirty Dan.”
Hogan, who was in town to promote his new beer brand, said, “He probably missed his calling. I’d want him as my tag-team partner because I’d let him handle all the work.”
After practice, Hogan and Campbell recorded a promotional video together. Hogan declared, “Campbell-mania, brother, is going to run wild this year. Super Bowl. Nothing but greatness. Nothing but victory. So, what are you going to do when the Detroit Lions and Campbell-mania run wild on you, brother?”
Campbell enjoyed Hogan’s playful antics and responded, “You’re the best. Appreciate you, man. Great to meet you,” before returning to his duties.
The 70-year-old Hogan, born Terry Bollea, is a WWE Hall of Famer and resides in the Tampa Bay area.
He will be facing women’s WBC heavyweight champion Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse in Detroit this Saturday, as he moves up weight classes for the challenge.
