RICHMOND, Ky.– EKU softball, coming off a standout season, has announced the addition of Boise State transfer Taci Haase and freshman Jordan Smith to its 2025 roster. The announcement was made by head coach Jane Worthington on Wednesday afternoon.
This marks the first offseason roster update for EKU, who completed the 2024 season as Atlantic Sun Conference Regular Season Champions with a 42-10 overall record and a 21-3 record in conference play.
Haase, a 5-foot-7 utility player from East Helena, Montana, joins EKU after two years at Boise State where she played in two games and was a Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete. During her time at Boise State, the Broncos achieved a 68-40 record and won the MWC Regular Season Title in 2023.
In high school, Haase was a three-time Bay Valley Athletic League Champion with Heritage High School in Brentwood, California, leading the team to a 74-7-1 record over three seasons with a .388 batting average. At EKU, she plans to major in emergency medical care. Her father, Tom, played collegiate baseball at the University of the Pacific.
Smith, a 5-foot-8 shortstop from Salinas, California, joins EKU after four years at Alisal High School, where she led her team to a league championship in her senior year. Smith is a one-time All-State honoree, three-time All-League selection, and had three seasons with a batting average over .500.
Smith’s athletic background is strong, with her parents, Sunil and Tamisha, both having been collegiate athletes at Hartnell College, where her father played football and her mother excelled in track and field.
Last season, EKU received a program record of 14 all-conference selections, including Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and four First Team All-ASUN selections.
EKU earned the No. 1 overall seed in the 2024 ASUN Conference Tournament and advanced to the semifinals, where they were defeated 6-2 by the No. 2 seed, North Florida.
