The Seattle Seahawks selected D.K. Metcalf with the 64th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Since then, Metcalf has developed into a strong receiver, consistently delivering impressive performances throughout his five years in the NFL.

During Metcalf’s tenure in Seattle, the team has undergone significant changes. Their former franchise quarterback, Russell Wilson, departed a couple of seasons into Metcalf’s career, and head coach Pete Carroll, one of the most successful coaches in the team’s history, also moved on.

Despite these changes, Metcalf has remained a constant presence on the roster, serving as a reliable and steady threat at the receiver position during the team’s retooling period.

After Wilson’s trade, Geno Smith became Metcalf’s quarterback. The pair has developed a solid working relationship, and Smith recently expressed his commitment to helping Metcalf elevate his career further:

“That’s my job to keep pushing him and that’s his job to keep coming and bringing it every single day… I’m just trying to push him and hopefully I can be the quarterback that he needs to unlock that.”

Smith’s success with the Seahawks has been partly due to his quick chemistry with Metcalf, which has positioned Smith for a potential career year in 2024.

While Metcalf has been a consistent performer throughout his NFL career, he has yet to establish himself as an elite receiver. Smith aims to be the quarterback who helps Metcalf reach the next level, but will Metcalf achieve that milestone in 2024?
