NHRA regulations permit a substitute driver to earn points for the original team member across a maximum of eight events, which is crucial for preserving Force’s standings while he recovers. Beckman’s season will begin to gain momentum at the 42nd annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals in Brainerd on August 16, where he will have the chance to earn points for Force and keep the team in the championship race.
Reflecting on his unexpected return to professional racing after a break since 2020, Beckman shared in the NHRA report:
“It’s been almost four years since I last raced, and I thought I’d never feel that thrill again. Although the reasons for my return are unfortunate, the chance I’ve been given is beyond words. I’m not replacing John—no one could do that. John is unique, and his influence on the sport and on me is immense. I’m incredibly lucky to have been chosen to fill in for him, and I’ll be the guy in the pits who can’t stop smiling.”
Brian Bohlander, marketing director at Old World Industries, also expressed confidence in Beckman’s role, both on and off the track.
“We’re excited to see the Peak team back in action, and Jack is the perfect person to fill in until John can return. It’s great for the fans and our customers, as Jack is a true automotive enthusiast and DIYer who will seamlessly integrate with our program both on and off the track.”
