Following the success of the True Love 2022 project, which featured a friendly match between Vietnam All Stars and the Borussia Dortmund legends in September in Ho Chi Minh City, the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League team will continue its activities in Vietnam. A friendly match between the Vietnam national team and Borussia Dortmund is set to take place on November 30 at My Dinh National Stadium, kicking off at 7 p.m.
This match results from a partnership between Next Media Company and Borussia Dortmund. Playing against a top German team offers the Vietnam national team a valuable opportunity to test its strength, especially since this will be their last international friendly before participating in the AFF Championship.
At the press conference announcing the event, Next Media Deputy General Director Do Thanh Tung said: “With the cooperation of Borussia Dortmund and support from the Bundesliga, we are honored to bring a top German team to Vietnam this November. We hope that through such matches, the Vietnam national team will gain experience and improve their skills by competing against top-level opponents. Additionally, this gives fans the chance to see world-famous players in action in Vietnam.
To ensure fans can easily obtain tickets, we have decided to sell them online. The strongest squad of the 1996-1997 UEFA Champions League champions is expected to play at My Dinh National Stadium. To facilitate ticket purchases, the organizers have partnered with VinID to sell tickets online via the VinID app from 15:00 on October 26 until the end of November 3. Ticket sales may end earlier if all tickets are sold out.
VinID, which has handled online ticket sales for previous Vietnamese team matches, offers three ticket price categories: VND 800,000; VND 1,200,000; and VND 1,600,000.
A representative of VFF, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, said, “This is a meaningful match. Coach Park will lead his last international friendly match, likely as a tribute, and we urge the audience to buy tickets to attend.”
The friendly match between the Vietnam national team and Borussia Dortmund is part of ongoing activities in collaboration with Next Media, the Vietnam Football Federation, and Dortmund Club. This tour to Hanoi underscores the German team’s commitment to enhancing their strategic partnership with Next Media and the Vietnam Football Federation, contributing to the future development of Vietnamese football.
Mr. Benedikt Scholz, Director of International and Commercial Partnerships at Borussia Dortmund, shared, “After a successful Legends Tour in Ho Chi Minh City in September, we at BVB are excited to bring our first team to Hanoi. Vietnam is very important for Borussia Dortmund in Asia. The passion and love for football are deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture, and we can’t wait to bring our professional team to our fans and supporters in the country for the first time in history.
With the support of Next Media, VFF, DFL, and our tour partners Evonik, Puma, Rowe, and Topps, we are confident in delivering a unique experience in Vietnam with many touchpoints for our local fans. The highlight of the trip will be our match against Vietnam’s national team, and together with Next Media, we aim to create success both on and off the pitch.”
Besides the participation of the two teams and the co-organizers, the friendly match is also supported by Ngoc Linh Vietnam Ginseng Medicine and Pharmacy Group as the Silver sponsor and Dong Tam Group as a companion sponsor.
