Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Team USA secured their second victory of the 2024 Paris Olympics with a 103-86 win over South Sudan on Wednesday afternoon.

Team USA entered the game with a 1-0 Olympic record, having defeated Nikola Jokic and Serbia 110-84 over the weekend.

With 8:54 remaining in the fourth quarter, LeBron and Team USA held a 75-58 lead. After a missed shot by a South Sudan player, James grabbed the rebound and sprinted down the court.

As he crossed half-court, LeBron lowered his head and collided with defender Marial Shayok, knocking him to the floor.

The refs blew the whistle and called a foul on Shayok, though it could have easily been assessed as a charge against LeBron.

After the play, NBA fans took to social media to share their thoughts on LeBron’s collision with Shayok.

LeBron is participating in his fourth Olympics, having won gold medals in Beijing (2008) and London (2012), as well as a bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics.

The four-time NBA champion has started every game for Team USA in Paris so far. Against Serbia, he scored 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting, along with seven rebounds and nine assists.

While LeBron didn’t post the same numbers against South Sudan, he still performed well, recording 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

LeBron is joined on Team USA by his Lakers teammate Anthony Davis, and this event marks his first time playing alongside Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry.
