Canberra Raiders veteran Jordan Rapana’s future is uncertain as he contemplates a possible move to the Super League.

A 16-time New Zealand international, Rapana has played 212 matches and scored 492 points for the Raiders since joining in 2014, following a year with the Gold Coast Titans and a stint with the Western Force in rugby union.

Approaching his 35th birthday later this month, Rapana is one of the Raiders’ longest-serving players but has demonstrated he still has much to offer, showing no signs of slowing down.

Currently unsigned for next season, Rapana is considering a two-year offer from a Super League team or a one-year extension with the Raiders, according to The Canberra Times.

He is expected to decide soon, with both the Catalan Dragons and Hull FC reportedly offering him a two-year deal.

“We’ll give him the time he needs because his experience would be valuable, but he’s considering a longer stint overseas, so he might choose that,” Raiders CEO Don Furner said.

“If he decides to leave, that’s great, but if not, we’ll be thrilled to have him back.”

A potential departure for Rapana would align with other veteran players, Elliott Whitehead and Nick Cotric, who are also heading to the Super League as the club looks to rebuild with younger talents like Ethan Sanders and Savelio Tamale.

Rapana is one of four players whose contracts expire at the end of the season, alongside Peter Hola, Zac Woolford, and James Schiller. Schiller is set to join the Newcastle Knights next season, though this has not yet been officially confirmed by the club.
