Schröder’s take on NBA versus Europ During the recent Paris Olympics, Germany’s point guard Dennis Schröder made headlines with a comment seemingly directed at the NBA’s style ean basketball:

“European basketball isn’t just about entertainment, it’s all about IQ and coaching,” Schröder said after Germany’s 93-83 loss to Serbia in the bronze medal game. “There are really smart players who know the game well. Teams like Serbia, Greece, Spain, France, Germany—all of them play the right way. A lot of European players in the NBA are making an impact.”

Kevin Durant, the U.S. forward, was apparently unimpressed by Schröder’s remarks. After winning gold against France in the final, Durant tweeted what appeared to be a response: “Entertainment and IQ.”

Schröder on Durant: “His post says everything about his personality”

It didn’t take long for the German player to fire back, labeling Durant as having a “weak personality” following Durant’s cryptic response.

Speaking out on his Twitch channel, Schröder strongly reacted: “Even though you’re such a big star, you felt the need to respond to something I said, which wasn’t even negative,” Schröder stated. “For me, that was a weak move. I don’t care if he tweets or not, but the fact that he posted it shows how weak his personality is. I respect Durant and players like him, some of the greatest in history, but that post says a lot about his character.”

Durant has yet to respond to Schröder’s remarks and seems uninterested in continuing the online exchange, but Schröder doesn’t appear inclined to stay quiet if it happens again, as he’s shown in the past.
