Hollywood-backed Wrexham is set to face Birmingham City, the English football club supported by NFL legend Tom Brady, on Monday.

In what could be the most star-studded League One matchup in the history of Britain’s third division, other famous athletes, like Tom Brady’s longtime rival Eli Manning, have joined the excitement.

After Wrexham’s official account shared a photo of Manning in a Red Dragons jersey on Friday, Manning quipped, “Now I can beat @TomBrady in football and fútbol! Go @Wrexham_AFC!”

Brady responded to the former New York Giants quarterback, who famously defeated him in two Super Bowls.

Wrexham is owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, while Brady is a co-owner of Birmingham City, which was relegated from the Championship last season.

Fox’s top color commentator, who recently started his broadcasting career with a 10-year, $375 million contract, used a chrome trophy prop to fire back at Manning and Wrexham.

“So I’ve been working on our little response video to Eli, and I’m looking around the house, but I can’t seem to find the other six of these,” Brady said, holding up a Lombardi Trophy.

Though Brady lost both Super Bowl matchups to the Giants, he has won the NFL championship seven times and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in league history.

Brady added, “Rob, can you educate the Wrexham fans a little bit on NFL history? Thanks, bud. Appreciate it. See you Monday.”

Wrexham will face Birmingham on Monday, while Brady will be on the call for the Saints-Cowboys game Sunday afternoon. If he attends the match in person, it would require a quick flight from Texas to England.

Both Birmingham and Wrexham have had strong starts to the League One season, remaining unbeaten alongside Stockport.
