In a season filled with disappointment, the Toronto Blue Jays are hoping their fans can deliver a record-breaking performance on Tuesday night.

The home game against the Boston Red Sox will mark the final “Loonie Dog” night of the year. As the tradition goes, the Blue Jays offer $1 hot dogs during every Tuesday game at Rogers Centre.

So far, the team has sold 678,488 Loonie Dogs this season, according to a spokesperson from Global News. In 2023, they sold a total of 693,865.

“For the final Loonie Dogs Night of the season, presented by Schneiders, fans need to eat 15,377 Loonie Dogs to break the all-time season record, and 21,512 to surpass 700,000 for the year,” the team stated.

On Aug. 6, during a game against the Baltimore Orioles, the Blue Jays sold 71,391 Loonie Dogs, which was a season-high but fell short of the single-game record of 76,627 set on Aug. 28, 2023, against the Washington Nationals.

Due to high demand, the Blue Jays have limited fans to four Loonie Dogs per transaction this year.
