Blue Jays Recall Brett de Geus, Option Tommy Nance to Spring Training Complex
TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled right-handed pitcher Brett de Geus from Triple-A Buffalo, the team announced Wednesday. In a corresponding move, reliever Tommy Nance has been optioned to the team’s spring training complex.
De Geus, who was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays from the Miami Marlins on September 12, has split time between Miami and the Seattle Mariners this season. Over 11 major league appearances, he has posted a 0-2 record with a 5.00 ERA.
Meanwhile, Nance has appeared in 20 games for the Blue Jays this season, finishing with an 0-3 record and a 4.09 ERA.
The roster adjustments were made prior to Toronto’s series finale against the Boston Red Sox at Rogers Centre.
