The Toronto Blue Jays entered the 2024 season with high hopes of competing for a World Series title, but their season quickly took a turn for the worse. Now sitting at the bottom of the American League East and out of playoff contention, the team may consider making some changes.

Dayn Perry of CBS Sports suggested that manager John Schneider could be under pressure after this disappointing season. “The Jays came into 2024 with World Series aspirations, but ended up as deadline sellers,” Perry wrote, noting that while the blame isn’t solely on Schneider, he was already on shaky ground due to questionable decisions in previous postseason games.

Perry specifically referenced Schneider’s controversial decision to pull Jose Berrios after just three innings in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series, a game Toronto eventually lost, leading to their postseason elimination.

Looking ahead to 2025, the Blue Jays may consider significant changes, potentially including a managerial shift. With three managers already fired this season, Schneider’s position seems uncertain, and with many managerial candidates expected to be available in the offseason, it wouldn’t be surprising if Toronto decided to move in a new direction. How the Blue Jays approach the offseason, especially regarding Schneider’s future, will be closely watched.
