PITTSBURGH– Sources informed PennLive that Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren is unlikely to play against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. After sustaining a knee injury in the game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Warren has not practiced in the first two days of this week. Although the team could push for his return, there is a general consensus that it would be wiser to allow him to rest and recover.

Warren underwent an MRI earlier this week, which did not show any long-term issues for the Steelers, but it has been enough to hinder his performance. He has lacked his usual explosiveness for much of the season, and the Steelers want to ensure their talented running back is fully healthy.

With Warren out, Cordarrelle Patterson is expected to take on more responsibilities, and there is a likelihood of elevating Jonathan Ward or Aaron Shampklin from the practice squad. Najee Harris will start the game and handle the majority of the carries against a Colts run defense that has struggled early in the season.
