Geno Smith likely wishes every road game took place at Ford Field, given his stellar performances there. During Monday night’s game against the Detroit Lions, Smith delivered one of his best outings despite the Seahawks’ 42-29 loss. He completed 38 of 56 passes for a career-high 395 yards, one touchdown, and a late interception.

Despite intense pressure from the Lions’ defense, which recorded nine quarterback hits and 10 pressures from Aidan Hutchinson, Smith stayed composed. He frequently scrambled to evade the rush, extending plays and making accurate throws on the move. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald praised Smith’s poise and accuracy, noting that he played a great game.

This performance shouldn’t have been surprising to those familiar with Smith’s history against the Lions. In the past three seasons, he’s been dominant at Ford Field. Last season, he threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-31 overtime win, and in 2022, he passed for 320 yards and two scores in a 48-45 victory. Over three games at the stadium, Smith has thrown for 1,043 yards with five passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and only one late-game interception.
