Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce sidestepped questions about rumors during his Wednesday press conference concerning wide receiver Davante Adams’ potential trade request. Instead, Pierce shifted focus to Adams’ injury status before their game against the Denver Broncos, stating, “Davante is dealing with a hamstring. He’s rehabbing, and we’re all focused on Denver.”

Pierce reiterated, “I’m just focused on Denver,” adding that he frequently communicates with Adams but preferred to keep their conversations private.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Adams is reportedly interested in reuniting with a former quarterback, with the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints as his top potential trade destinations.

Adams shares a history with Aaron Rodgers from their eight seasons together on the Green Bay Packers and also played with Derek Carr during his time with the Raiders.

Despite the trade rumors, Pierce stressed that his and the team’s main focus is on their preparation for Denver. He stated, “It starts with me, because that’s my only focus. I’m paid to prepare each week for the opponent. I don’t blink. I don’t flinch. Business as usual, just got to keep moving forward.”

Pierce acknowledged the constant challenges in the NFL, adding, “Every day brings something new. Since taking this job, it’s been one obstacle after another. This is just another one.”
