“He’s very consistent, calm, intelligent, and highly coachable,” Venables stated.
Hawkins echoed this sentiment before the biggest game of his young career.
“Staying consistent is key,” Hawkins said after Wednesday’s practice. “I need to focus on the details where I can improve before the Texas game. Once next week arrives, I’ll concentrate on the game plan and move forward from there.”
