The Nebraska volleyball team is on a hot streak, with 11 consecutive wins, showing dominance this season, especially at their home venue, the Bob Devaney Sports Center. In their last home match on September 29, they swept USC 3-0. This momentum continued when they faced Iowa on October 6, with a special appearance by 80-year-old Susan Stevens, who attended her first Husker volleyball game, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Among 9,000 fans, Susan stood out, holding a sign that read, “80! & FIRST HUSKER VBALL GAME.”
Susan, a longtime fan who had watched many games from afar, expressed her wish to attend a game on Facebook after a recent Nebraska win. Her message caught the attention of Rocky Almonds, an educator who helped secure tickets for her. Thrilled by the gesture, Susan predicted a sweep—and the Huskers delivered, defeating Iowa 3-0.
