Florida Gators four-star recruit schedules a visit to Texas Longhorns.
As the Texas Longhorns prepare to face the Oklahoma Sooners, they’re also active in recruiting. Four-star defensive lineman commit Joseph Mbatchou has scheduled his official visit to Texas for October 18, coinciding with the Longhorns’ game against Georgia.
While Texas is attempting to persuade Mbatchou to reconsider his commitment, other schools are also pursuing him. He has received offers from South Carolina, Auburn, USC, Georgia, LSU, and Tennessee. Mbatchou visited Texas unofficially last month and has planned official visits to Auburn and Florida in November.
The Longhorns’ interest in Mbatchou is expected, as 247Sports ranks him as the 46th defensive lineman in the 2025 class and the 50th overall player in Georgia.
When asked about Texas, Mbatchou told Rivals National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman, “Right now, Texas is probably recruiting me the hardest.”
If Mbatchou decides to join the Longhorns, he would be part of a strong 2025 class that already includes five-star commitments like receiver Kaliq Lockett, safety/linebacker Jonah Williams, and receiver Jaime Ffrench. Recently, they also flipped four-star receiver Daylan McCutcheon from Florida State.
As the 2025 recruiting season approaches its end, Mbatchou is definitely a player to watch. He has a promising future and could thrive in Austin. In less than a week, the Longhorns will have the opportunity to demonstrate why they are his top choice.
