Kicker Brandon McManus has received a new opportunity in his career. Following allegations of sexual assault, the Green Bay Packers have signed the 33-year-old NFL kicker. McManus, previously with the Jacksonville Jaguars, was released after the legal issues surfaced. The Packers have been struggling with their special teams’ performance this season and were in need of improvement.
McManus has an 81.4% field goal percentage and was recently cleared of potential disciplinary action after the NFL investigated the assault allegations from two women and determined that the evidence was insufficient.
The legal situation is ongoing. Brandon McManus is still facing a civil lawsuit in Duval County Circuit Court from two women who claim he assaulted them during a Jaguars team flight to London in 2023.
Notably, the women have also sued the Jaguars for failing to ensure their safety during the flight. However, following the NFL’s investigation, several teams expressed strong interest in signing the veteran kicker. The Green Bay Packers released kicker Brayden Narveson and signed McManus on Tuesday, outbidding the New York Jets and Washington Commanders. Narveson had missed an NFL-high five field goal attempts this season.
