Auri, Led by Tuomas Holopainen, Set to Begin Finnish Tour in August 2025

Auri, the ethereal musical project spearheaded by Nightwish’s Tuomas Holopainen, is preparing to embark on a highly anticipated Finnish tour in August 2025. The band, known for their atmospheric soundscapes and otherworldly compositions, promises an enchanting series of performances that will captivate fans across Finland.

A Unique Musical Journey

Formed by Tuomas Holopainen, his wife and vocalist Johanna Kurkela, and Nightwish’s multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley, Auri has carved a distinctive niche in the music world. With influences ranging from Celtic folk to cinematic soundtracks, the trio’s music offers a stark contrast to Holopainen’s symphonic metal roots with Nightwish.

The band’s two studio albums, Auri (2018) and Auri II: Those We Don’t Speak Of (2021), have received critical acclaim for their lush instrumentation and introspective themes. Fans can expect a mix of beloved tracks from these albums as well as possible surprises during the tour.

Auri’s Vision for the Tour

Tuomas Holopainen expressed excitement about bringing Auri’s music to live audiences again.

“Auri has always been about creating a dreamlike escape through music,” he said. “Performing live allows us to share that journey with our fans in an intimate and magical way.”

The tour will feature stops in major cities and smaller, more intimate venues, reflecting Auri’s focus on creating personal and immersive experiences for their audience.

An Enchanting Live Experience

Auri’s live performances are expected to blend their signature atmospheric sound with captivating visuals, creating an immersive experience that transports listeners to a mystical world. Johanna Kurkela’s hauntingly beautiful vocals, paired with Donockley’s mastery of traditional instruments like the uilleann pipes, are sure to create unforgettable moments on stage.

“We want our concerts to feel like stepping into another realm,” Donockley shared. “The connection between the music, the setting, and the audience is what makes live performances so special.”

Fan Anticipation

Fans across Finland have expressed excitement about the tour, which marks the band’s return to live stages after several years. Many have taken to social media to share their enthusiasm, with one fan writing, “Auri’s music is pure magic. I can’t wait to experience it live!”

Tour Dates and Tickets

The Finnish tour will kick off on August 14th in Kitee and include stops in cities like Helsinki, Tampere, and Vaasa. Tickets are set to go on sale next week, with demand expected to be high.

Looking Ahead

The August tour not only marks a new chapter for Auri but also highlights the band’s growing impact in the music scene. As Holopainen continues to balance his work with Nightwish and Auri, fans are eager to see where this ethereal project will take them next.
