Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons is celebrating a significant honor, as the franchise has recognized his impactful work in the Nashville community.
In 2022, Simmons launched the Give Em A Reason Foundation, focused on building self-esteem and empowering local youth. His efforts through the foundation have brought meaningful change to the community.
For the second year in a row, Simmons has been nominated by the Titans for the prestigious Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, recognizing his excellence both on and off the field.
“Being considered for the Walter Payton Man of the Year for a second time is truly one of the greatest honors of my career,” Simmons shared via team reporter Jim Wyatt. “I am grateful for the opportunity to play the game, but even more thankful for the platform it offers me to bless others. I know there’s more work to do in the community, and I’ll continue to make it one of my greatest priorities and passions. I’m deeply thankful to the Titans organization and the NFL for supporting my efforts and championing my mission.”
Titans head coach Brian Callahan also praised Simmons for his nomination.
“I am continually proud of the commitment our players show to the community. Their influence is powerful, and Jeffery is a perfect example of using a platform for good,” Callahan said via Wyatt. “He embodies everything the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award stands for – leadership on and off the field, inspiring others, and striving to be the best man and teammate possible.”
Simmons and the Titans are gearing up for their Week 14 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, with kickoff set for Sunday at 12 p.m. CT.
