Nina Hagen Announces New Album ‘Cosmic Rebirth’ and 2025 World Tour
Renowned as the “Godmother of Punk,” Nina Hagen has thrilled fans worldwide by announcing her forthcoming album, Cosmic Rebirth, set for release on March 15, 2025. This marks her first studio album since 2022’s Unity.
Cosmic Rebirth is poised to be a dynamic fusion of punk, rock, reggae, and experimental electronica, featuring 12 tracks that showcase Hagen’s distinctive voice and eclectic musical style. The album includes notable collaborations, such as a duet with avant-garde jazz musician Kamasi Washington and a reggae-infused track featuring Jamaican artist Damian Marley. Discussing the album, Hagen remarked, “Cosmic Rebirth is a reflection of the times we live in and the spiritual awakening we need. It’s a call to action, a meditation, and a celebration of life.”
The lead single, “Starlight Calling,” is scheduled for release on January 12, 2025, accompanied by a visually striking music video directed by Jonas Åkerlund. Early teasers suggest a cosmic and surrealist theme, aligning with the album’s overarching concept.
