Tony Mowbray, a former manager of Sunderland, has been named Birmingham’s new manager for a two-and-a-half-year term.
After leading the Black Cats into the play-offs the previous season, Mowbray served as Wearside’s manager for 15 months before being fired by Sunderland at the beginning of December. With just two victories in their previous 15 league games, Birmingham will be led by him. As a result, the Blues parted ways with Wayne Rooney.
