What we took away from the amazing victory of the Chicago Bulls over the Milwaukee Bucks
The Chicago Bulls stunned the Milwaukee Bucks 120-113 on Thursday night, injecting some optimism into a locker room that has been overcome with pessimism and doubts about the future of this team. Several lessons can be learned from the victory that raised spirits:
Nikola Vucevic behaved more violently.
With two of the team’s “Big 3” sidelined due to injuries, all eyes were on Nikola Vucevic, the All-Star big man, to take the team’s leadership. And he more than fulfilled that promise, scoring a team-high 29 points on 11 of 21 shots, pulling down 10 rebounds and dishing out six assists. Vooch’s offensive explosion came at the right time, as he had just finished three poor games in which he scored in the single digits.
The idea that the Bulls might be able to play better without All-Stars Zach LaVine or DeMar DeRozan was also dismissed by Vucevic.
Coby White keeps up his winning ways
Moreover, Coby White continued to push himself, finishing a career-best run of 23 points, seven assists, and four rebounds in a staggering forty-five minutes. In his final seven games, he has made 30 triples, including three more that he has connected on.
Ayo Dosunmu was another guard who volunteered. Due to the abundance of guards on the team, the former Illinois standout was buried in the starting five but played with incredible confidence. In 39 minutes of action, he scored 14 points on 6 of 8 shots, added six rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
