The Lions have revealed changes to their roster in preparation for the upcoming game against the Broncos.
The Detroit Lions have made roster adjustments in anticipation of their Week 15 game against the Denver Broncos at Ford Field.
Ahead of Saturday’s matchup, the Lions have elevated linebacker Bruce Irvin and kicker Michael Badgley from the practice squad.
This marks Irvin’s second appearance with the Lions, and in his debut against the Saints, he secured a sack and received a 54.3 overall Pro Football Focus grade in 11 snaps.
The Denver Broncos have been effective in generating takeaways, contributing to their success in winning six of their last seven games. With a record of 7-6, the Broncos are just one game behind in the AFC West standings.
Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson emphasized the importance of ball security, recognizing the Broncos’ ability to capitalize on takeaways, stating, “We’ve got to do a better job protecting the ball this week than we have the last four games.”
Additionally, Detroit’s offense faces a challenge in converting third downs, as the Broncos currently boast the top-ranked third-down defense in the NFL over the last eight weeks. Johnson noted the Lions’ improvement in third-down conversion rate throughout the season and highlighted the upcoming challenge.
In the historical series between the two teams, Denver holds the advantage, having emerged victorious in nine out of the 14 total contests.
