Following the Rose Bowl loss to Michigan, Alabama coach Nick Saban is opting for Netflix instead of football.

In Pasadena, California, following Alabama’s football team’s overtime loss to Michigan (27-20) in the Rose Bowl, there is no official confirmation on whether Nick Saban will return as the coach. Despite the uncertainty about his future, Terry Saban, the coach’s wife, shared their immediate plans. After the postgame press conference, where Terry greeted Nick with a hug, they quietly discussed their evening plans:

Terry Saban: “Do you want to watch the other football game?”
Nick Saban: “Not really.”
Terry Saban: “OK, let’s watch Netflix.”

Terry Saban mentioned that they had been watching a foreign film, describing it as “Turkish or something,” with subtitles, which she thought would help distract her husband from the defeat.

During a conversation with USA TODAY Sports, Terry Saban reflected on the loss, emphasizing the need to find a silver lining and teach younger players for the future. When asked about Nick Saban’s coaching plans, a young woman interjected, stating they were not answering such questions at the moment.

Nick Saban addressed the final play call of the season, revealing it came from offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. The play, involving quarterback Jalen Milroe running up the middle on fourth-and-goal, did not succeed, leading to the end of the game. Saban acknowledged it as a bad call, considering the unsuccessful outcome.

There were also issues with bad snaps between Milroe and center Seth McLaughlin throughout the season. Despite having months to address the problem, McLaughlin’s off-target snaps persisted, leading to challenges for the quarterback-center exchange.

While expressing disappointment about the loss, Saban praised the team’s turnaround during the season. Despite setbacks early on, such as a loss to Texas and a less-than-impressive victory over South Florida, Alabama went on an 11-game winning streak, culminating in an SEC Championship win over Georgia. Saban deemed this season as one of the most amazing in Alabama football history, emphasizing the team’s commitment, improvement, and resilience.
