The Rams have secured the services of quarterback Dresser Winn and executed two additional roster changes in preparation for the playoffs.
Ahead of their Week 18 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, the Los Angeles Rams executed three roster changes. These moves come on the heels of the Rams securing a playoff spot last week, thanks to a victory over the New York Giants and a simultaneous loss by the Seattle Seahawks.
As they prepare for their final regular-season game in Santa Clara, the Rams made several adjustments to their roster this Tuesday. Notably, the quarterback position saw the signing of Dresser Winn for his third stint with the team. Winn, initially an undrafted free agent from UT-Martin, accumulated 5,800 passing yards and 37 touchdowns in 32 games over six seasons. Although the Rams released Winn in August, he returned for a brief stint in early November. During the interim period, Winn played for the Edmonton Elks in the Canadian Football League.
Additionally, the Rams addressed special teams concerns by parting ways with long snapper Alex Matheson, who was brought in last week amid issues in the kicking game. Lastly, the team made the decision to place defensive back Shaun Jolly on the sidelines for the remainder of the season, barring a Super Bowl run for Los Angeles. Jolly had participated in four games with the Rams this season.
