Journalist Dean Jones says bringing in Million Manhoef from Vitesse Arnhem would be “a really savvy signing” for Rangers if they pull it off.
The highly regarded 22-year-old, who plays mostly as a winger, is being pursued by the Gers, according to a report published in The Scottish Sun on December 29.
Preston North End and Leicester City, two English Championship teams, are rumored to be interested in signing Manhoef.
English Championship sides Leicester City and Preston North End are also said to be in the hunt to sign Manhoef.
Regarding the transfer link, Jones stated to GiveMeSport [7 January] that it would be an extremely thrilling signing. He’s a cunning player. He is one of the hardest to follow.
He actually takes up the ball in really wonderful places in and around the box as a result of his extremely clever small movements.
In fact, Rangers would be signing someone very astutely. And he’s the kind of player that will entice spectators to jump up from their seats if they can pull it off.
Rangers were quick off the mark in terms of their January transfer business, having announced the signing of Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves prior to the window even opening on 1 January.
Several players, including Manhoef, have since been connected to a move to Ibrox. Since Philippe Clement has always expressed his desire to add players, at least one more should arrive.
Manhoef fulfills many requirements, not the least of which is his ability to play on both wings and as a center-forward when needed. In 15 Eredivisie games this season, the Dutchman has four goals, which is a respectable performance for a losing team.
According to The Scottish Sun, Manhoef will reportedly accept a proposal of £2.5 million, which is definitely within the Gers’ budget provided the appropriate player is offered.
Manhoef might end up being excellent value for the money because of his versatility and ability to create opportunities.
