Sunderland have drafted up a shortlist of striker targets they want to sign this month.

The main issue that has plagued Sunderland so far this term has been the lack of goals from their strikers.

Tony Mowbray seems to have addressed that area during the summer by adding Mason Burstow, Nazariy Rusyn, Eliezer Mayenda, and Luis Semedo.

None of them, though, have made a strong start at the Stadium of Light.

Jack Clarke has scored twelve goals from the left flank, but Rusyn is the only striker for Sunderland with a goal; he finally found the net on New Year’s Day as the team defeated Preston North End 2-0.

In order to complement the quartet of forwards acquired throughout the summer, the team is eager to sign a more seasoned player.

Hearts’ prolific scorer Lawrence Shankland and Fulham’s Jay Stansfield have both been linked to Sunderland thus far, while Kieffer Moore, a target for Bournemouth, is the most recent name circulating.

It has come to light that Sunderland and Michael Beale have discussed a possible trade for Moore, with Beale holding out for the Cherries to make a decision.
