During the current transfer window, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has only been able to add one player to his roster, but he is still searching for others.
This week, Nicolas Kuhn—who will join Liel Abada, Luis Palma, and Daizen Maeda as alternatives on the flanks—arrived from Rapid Vienna.
According to Rodgers’ most recent remarks, the team is still working on a number of transfers before the end of the month, and acquiring a striker is a top priority.
Celtic’s only genuine recognized striker going into February is Kyogo Furuhashi, while Maeda and Hyeongyu Oh are presently at the Asian Cup.
To make the race for spots intense and to rotate selections between now and the end of the season, more cover and quality are required.
Rodgers recognized this problem in a speech this past weekend, telling [The Herald]: “It’s something we have to look at; we can’t ignore it.” It’s striking a balance, given Kyogo’s excellent performance thus far, between challenging someone and admitting that’s a hard sell to them. Or is it a rookie who has the ability to develop and get better?
“Those are the things you consider, since those guys’ absence [from the Asian Cup and the African Cup of Nations] will only be temporary.” Yes, availability is the most important factor.

“It’s also one that we have been looking at for a period of time and it would have really changed if Kyogo had gone away with Japan. That was our thinking process, that we would actually be left with no one. Him being here for virtually one game a week for a number of weeks changes the dynamic.
