What Startled Jaylen Brown of the Celtics After He Crossed Up Luka Doncic

On Monday night’s 119-110 victory against Boston on the road, Jaylen Brown, the star of the Celtics, put Luka Doncic on the floor with a behind-the-back move and then made a mid-range shot that was worthy of a highlight reel.

However, Brown, who outperformed Doncic that evening with 34 points on 13 of 22 free throw shooting from the field, thought the play was very routine.

Simply displaying aggression. According to NBC Sports Boston, Brown informed reporters, “That’s all it was.” It’s a game of basketball. When you read between the lines, a lot of things happen. He deserves praise for trying to be a defensive player. But it was simply me being pushy, nothing more. At any time, you may be on the other side of it. Simply said, that was a nice play.

Although Brown’s performance was noteworthy because it was against one of the league’s biggest names, the play was made even more interesting by what happened immediately after.

The Mavericks, to the dismay of the Dallas players, displayed Brown defeating Doncic on their jumbotron. Tim Hardaway and Markieff Morris expressed their displeasure on the floor about the replay that was being shown for everyone at American Airlines Center, according to Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe.

Brown expressed his surprise at the Mavericks’ decision to display the footage on their video board, saying he was not aware of it.

“This way? No, it wasn’t anything I noticed, Brown replied. That is absurd. If someone did it, they need to be fired.”

Doncic didn’t appear to be worried by what occurred with the jumbotron, despite several Mavericks players being furious about it.

According to Jay King of The Athletic, Doncic told reporters, “I saw that video.” “I must admit, that was quite pleasant.”
